2012 Democratic National Convention: How to Get There    Be part of the historic process to select the 2012 Presidential nominee, heed the call to action and elect candidates who support the Democratic agenda.
From Precinct Caucus to National Convention
The 46th Democratic National Convention will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina the week of September 3rd, 2012.  At the Convention, delegates from all around the country will join together to voice their opinion and vote for their choice for the Democratic Presidential ticket for the 2012 election. Precinct Caucus The process starts at your Precinct Caucus, goes to the county level, the state level.  The Precinct Caucus allows Democrats in your community to decide who they want to be the nominee for president.
If you want to go to Charlotte, here’s what you will have to do: Be a registered Democrat in Nebraska. Fill out the Delegate and Alternate           Statement of Candidacy which will be           available on April 1, 2012 from           www.NebraskaDemocrats.org. You must turn in the completed           application to the State Party by 5PM CT           on May 25th, 2012. Attend the Precinct Caucus on April 14th,           2012 and get elected by others in your           precinct to be a delegate to your County           Convention based on who you support for           President. If elected a delegate, you must attend          your County Convention which will be          held between June 1st and June 10th,          depending on your county.  You may          contact your county Democratic Party          Chair for more information about the          County Convention. At the County Convention, you must be           elected by the delegates to State Convention           on June 23rd, 2012.
Nebraska State Convention The State Convention will be a two day meeting in Omaha designed to help people meet other other passionate Democrats and elect delegates to the National Convention in Charlotte in order to support their candidate for President.  Delegates and at-large delegates will be elected from each district based on their home county. Following these steps will ensure that you are eligible to represent Nebraska on the national stage in Charlotte!
